P1W4 – Portraits

These photos were taken Sunday with Sara’s family. This was a great opportunity for both them and I, because I needed practice taking pictures of people – and they (being camera shy like me) needed more photos taken. I was able to practice some of the portrait editing techniques I learned to each photo, but mostly to the family picture on the lawn.

Digging Posts

In this photo I actually had to desaturate the blues, which had become too strong after small curves and levels edits.

Family Lawn

This photo really makes me smile looking at it. Sokka had done something silly while they were posing, and caused them all to start laughing while I was shooting. I like to shoot in continuous mode, especially when photographing living/moving subjects, so this gave me three or so to choose from while the family had been laughing.

Nature Photographer

I love this photo as-is. Sara has always loved to take macro pictures of flowers, and bees and other insects if she can catch them up close. We went on a drive during one of these beautiful early summer days we had this last week while she had the day off, and I brought my point-and-shoot so that I could catch moments just like this.
